The ISCTH current transducer provides a Hall-Effect sensor with an integrated signal conditioner. All units are packaged in a split-core configuration for ease of installation. Application flexibility is provided by a wide variety of input current ranges and output signal types. Units meet the requirements of ATEX Directive 94/9/EC and UL/CUL Intrinsically Safe regulations (see standards listing). These standards are specifically related to the requirements for hazardous location installations in North America and the European Union (EU) but are widely accepted throughout the world. When used with appropriate safety barriers these units are recommended for installation in hazardous locations such as offshore platforms and petrochemical plants.
The ISCTH intrinsically
safe
sensors convert dc and ac current to an isolated voltage or mA output with the ability to
track ac waveshapes. The ISCTH output is a faithful reproduction of the
measured current, whether ac or dc. Popular process control
voltage and current loop outputs are available. Split core options
mean that connection is non-intrusive and straightforward. The available input range
of the ISCTH sensors is any value from 100A to 2500Adc. The sensor power
input is designed to operate using the standard process control voltage of
24Vdc. Active Hall Effect sensor technology allows
measurement from DC-1kHz along with fast step response. The ISCTH
can be used to provide an instantaneous output for ac currents. Typical applications are
found in hazardous areas like oil drilling, oil rigs, mining, process control systems
and high energy battery banks. For all ISCTH models, a
DNV 2006-OSL-ATEX-0411X and NIST/NPL
(UKAS) traceable certificate of conformance is supplied.
