The robust IRF current probes all utilize a flexible clip on current sense coil, allowing fast and safe
installation, ideal for current monitoring and retrospective fitting.
Using the optional 1A or 5A output, the IRF are a direct replacement for
existing current transformer, completely compatible with installed CT circuits.
Many of the current transformer safety considerations can be eliminated using this
technique, which produces safe low level signals even with no secondary burden or
loading. With frequency bandwidths from 1Hz to 1MHz, the IRF is ideal for
single and three phase power systems containing harmonics and distorted waveshapes.
Even PWM motor drive signals, chopped and pulsed waveforms can be measured
accurately. Using the optional IRF-rms converter, a dc output is produced making the
IRF current probe ideal for control or system monitoring purposes.
Typically the IRF clip on, clip around flexible
coil current probe is used with SCADA systems, PLC, digital storage
oscilloscopes, data loggers, power meters and power analyzers.
