What is a Static Frequency Converter?
As the name suggests a Static Frequency Converter or SFC, changes from one power frequency to another, usually at a fixed installation. In addition, most SFCs will allow a change from one voltage to another. Applications include maritime docks, avionics testing, airport ground power and appliance testing.

Description
The Powertek static frequency converters serve as a popular frequency changer: AC Power 50Hz to 60Hz, 60Hz to 50Hz or 50/60Hz utility power to 400Hz. Specialist frequency conversions are possible 16.67Hz/25Hz/100Hz. Our Ptk-33000, Ptk-FCM and Ptk-SFC series static converters utilize a built-in rectifier, converting incoming AC power into DC, then inverting the DC to the required frequency and voltage based on IGBT switching and a built-in isolation transformer. The Ptk-FCM series has many advantages, making them ideal for export product testing or operational test of imported equipment helped with their command and control interfaces. Applications such as the testing of military/avionics equipment, typically 400Hz electronics operated in aircraft, where maximum and minimum conditions are simulated. For aircraft ground power, fixed wing and helicopter applications, GPU or a military vessels, a variety of formats are possible including dual o/p combinations 28Vdc/120Vac 3ph 400Hz GPUs
