Calibration services for Electrical phase angle, multimeters and power analysers

Six reasons why you should recalibrate or recertify your transducers

1. Whenever Governmental Regulations Stipulate

EnergyStar and other Federal, as well as State and Local programs, require recalibration and re-certification at specified intervals. These are “must do’s”.

2. Whenever your facility QA/QC policy requires that action

Many operations define a period in which sensor performance must be confirmed and re-calibrated, if necessary. Always follow that as a minimum.

3. You Suspect a Change in Measurement

If you detect a change in measurement or process output, talk with one of our Application Specialists. Unless you’ve identified a system change prior to recognizing the issue, the safest (and least expensive) path is to verify the device performance and calibration.

4. Electrical Surge or Sustained Temperature Issues

A surge in either the measurement current or voltage, or a sustained operation outside the device’s specified operating temperature range can impact the unit’s performance and long term calibration. This is particularly true of DC current measurements. It’s best (and, again, least expensive) to verify the device calibration.

5. When Money Changes Hands

Everyone gets a little more particular when there’s money involved. Energy billing or cost allocation is a common example. If there’s not a contract stipulation, then a minimum of once per year is a safe starting point.

6. Whenever the Manufacturer Recommends It

Many OEMs define a time period in which sensor/instrument performance must be confirmed and re-calibrated. Always follow that as a minimum.
